the Industrialization brought about an explosion in the development and usage of machines. simultaneously, the images of bodies changed with new representaion tools. the wish to replace unhealthy or indurable body parts become increasinlgy plausible. body images were further abstracted and the actual images became more fuzzy and ambiguous, for example with x-rays and in the following century also with thermo-technology.
